Nationality: USA

Qualifications:BS, BA, MA

With degrees in Chemistry, Political Science, and International Communications, Adam is joining MIS as a Chemistry teacher with a focus on Years 10-13.  He has taught Chemistry in China for 15 years, with an emphasis on IGCSE and A-Level.  He particularly loves guiding his students to think critically and discover how Science plays an important part in their both their academic and daily lives.

He feels that the key to teaching is developing strong relationships and trust with his students.  This provides the students with the confidence to explore without fear of failing or embarrassment – as there is no such thing as a bad question. He believes that the classroom should be a safe environment for all students to learn and enquire without hesitation or doubt.

Adam has many interests outside of school, including cooking and reading.  In addition, he has an 8-year-old son who will also be joining MIS as a student in Year 4.
