Born in Birmingham UK, Benjamin was schooled at King Edward VI Camp Hill grammar school before reading Philosophy at the University of Manchester. After a year teaching English in Japan, he joined the Teach First programme, teaching in a secondary all-girls school in London for two years. He then joined the leadership team on the Teach For India initiative, first as a Programme Manager in Delhi and then a Senior Programme Manager in Chennai. Returning to London in 2013, he worked for 10 years at the highly successful London Academy of Excellence as the Deputy Head (Pastoral and Co-Curricular), including a 6-month stint as Acting Headteacher. The school regularly sends more than 30 students each year to Oxford and Cambridge and is ranked one of the top colleges in the UK. In 2020 Benjamin completed his National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) and from 2018 to 2023 Benjamin was the Safeguarding Governor and Chair of the Curriculum and Standards Committee at Kingsford Community School, a Confucius Classroom School.
Benjamin believes in the importance of an all-round education that nurtures all children to achieve the best of their potential. Hilda Huang is a seasoned executive in international education and financial management, having served as Executive Principal, Chief Financial Officer, and Founding Consultant at Shenzhen Huituo School, Aisha International Education Group, and several top international schools. She has extensive experience in founding preparations, governance system development, and operational management for international schools, possessing a systematic and pragmatic understanding of sustainable development in international education. She also focuses on second-generation development for high-net-worth families, introducing educational resources, and incubating innovative educational programs, all with a commitment to creating long-term value.
Prior to entering education, Hilda worked at PwC in IPO auditing, risk management, and consulting. She served as an Asia-Pacific executive at major state-owned enterprises and Fortune 500 leaders, participating in IPO advisory and market capitalization management for multiple companies. She excels at integrating business and finance, risk control, and organizational culture development.
Hilda possesses extensive international experience, having worked and conducted research in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and Switzerland. She currently serves as an Executive Director of the Greater Bay Area Education Development Association, and is a co-founder of the American International Student Exchange Foundation, Swiss Science Center, and Melbourne University Fan Ao College. Katie is an enthusiastic educator of Humanities. Having completed her Bachelor’s degree in Theology and her Master’s degree in World Religion from King’s College London, Katie’s predominant academic interest is the study of human behaviour and interaction. Katie enjoys teaching and exploring life’s big questions and wishes for students to thrive as critical thinkers of the world.
Katie completed Teach First’s Leadership Development Programme in 2020; she gained her Postgraduate Diploma in Education from University College London’s Institute of Education. Katie is in her fifth year of teaching; before teaching at Merchiston, Katie taught at a secondary school in South London for 4 years. Here, she gained extensive experience as Head of Religious Studies, Head of Year 12 and 13, and as Key Stage 5 Oxbridge and Medicine Coordinator. Katie has a keen interest in the UK university pathway system, in particular UCAS and Oxbridge Early Entry admissions, having successfully supported multiple students achieve places to study at institutions like Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College London, the London School of Economics, and Edinburgh University to name a few.
